Happy Earth Day everyone!
Looking for some quick tips on what you can do this Earth Day — and every day — to advance sustainability? Check out WMUR Channel 9 News tonight — and the web interview they have online now — with yours truly! It’s my 15 minutes of fame.
Our own Beth connected me with WMUR, and while I was nervous (my first time in front of the camera), I have to say it was rather painless. Hopefully I’ve given viewers some things to think about and act on.
And, as I say in the TV interview, at UNH we organize everything we do around sustainability. We take all kinds of steps — big and small — and oftentimes save money with our actions. I mention our power down campaign, annual Student Energy Waste Watch Challenge, local food (which we have in our dining halls and on-campus eateries), and lots of sustainable transportation options (including taking Wildcat Transit.)
We have many more ideas for faculty and staff and for students on our website.
Enjoy!

It great that colleges are taking such a pro active role in sustainability. It’s your generation that is going to have to get us out of the mess we are in right now.
