Welcome to Discover(ing) Sustainability, a blog written by members of the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Durham campus community and managed by the UNH University Office of Sustainability. Our goal is to discuss sustainability through the example of UNH and what we are doing to be a model sustainable learning community. Why the blog?
- Discover the sustainable learning community at UNH: We want to share UNH’s commitment to sustainability with the larger world, both as an example of what other institutions can do and as a way to continually transform ourselves.
- Discovering sustainability itself: We see sustainability as “seeing things whole and acting accordingly.” Through sustainability we weave together disparate ways of thinking, integrate knowledge from different disciplines, and connect issues and problems in ways that foster health and integrity over generations. As such, we are continually discovering just how powerful sustainability is, and we hope to encourage dialogue about sustainability through this blog.
